Find out how our Kenosha dentist can treat a damaged tooth in just one visit.
With a busy schedule, we know that it isn’t always easy when a problem arises that requires an emergency visit to our Kenosha, WI dental office. But our very own Dr. Mario Maritato is here to tell you that not all dental procedures take multiple visits to complete. In fact, if you are dealing with an infected or inflamed pulp and we’ve recommended a root canal, you don’t have to worry about coming in for multiple appointments. This procedure can often be performed in just one visit.
It might sound too good to be true but while root canals certainly get some negative press, the treatment itself is really no more invasive or involved than getting a tooth filled. And, you’ll be even happier to hear that our Kenosha general dentist can often perform a root canal in just one visit. Only complex issues, complications from treatment or severely infected teeth may actually require more than one trip to our office.
What should I expect from a root canal?
This procedure is performed right here in our comfortable office under local anesthesia, so you won’t have to worry about feeling any discomfort during your treatment. The purpose of a root canal is to go inside the tooth to remove disease tissue and the infected/inflamed dental pulp (the reason why you are experiencing dental pain).
Once the local anesthesia has numbed the area, we will use a drill to enter the hard enamel layers of your tooth until we reach the inside. Then we will use special tools to carefully remove the tissue and thoroughly disinfect the tooth before applying unique dental materials that will help to rebuild the tooth. A tooth that has received root canal therapy will often need a dental crown. However, keep in mind that getting a dental crown can require a separate visit since these restorations are custom-made to fit your mouth.
Want to find out how you can get root canal therapy in just one visit? Then call Maritato Dental in Kenosha, WI today and find out if this is the right dental treatment for you.
